Seeing this post prompted me to have another go at trying to get Dos Navigator working with Dosbox on the RS-97 and I'm happy to say it was successful! Many thanks to and for the key step, which was mounting the roms directory in the autoexec portion of the config file. There is so far no way to move the mouse but a cursor is on screen. Start again is Enter, Select is still Esc. Arrows of course move the selector (highlighted items) around. you'll mainly be using that to navigate Windows. Step 9)once installed, you'll be back at the C prompt.
Step 8)Maybe dir/p to view files one page at a time.you want to find either install or setup.I can't remember what they call it for 3.1 then type that and hit enter Windows setup will start, follow the prompts. controls change when not in keyboard mode. Note the controls for DOSBox! L button opens a virtual keyboard, A types the letter, B triggers to hold a button such as Shift, Start is Enter, Select is Esc. Type cd "install" (or whatever you called the folder you extracted the img files' contents into) enter Step 7) Alright, now DOSBox is at a C:\ Prompt Step 6) Go on and reboot the RS-97 and open DOSBox.I recommend overclocking to 624 first as even a small overclock makes a noticeable difference. Name it something like "install" or "setup" Use 7zip to open and extract the contents of all those files to a folder. Step 5) There will be a zip with, I believe, 6 img files. Step 4)now you'll need a version of Windows 3.1 I recommend the standard 3.1 which you can download here: Step 3) type in the config file on its own line "mount c /mnt/int_sd/roms/DOS" assuming that's where you created the folder linebreak (press Enter) and add another line simply "C:" and save the file. If you haven't already, make a roms folder called "DOS" dosbox folder and edit the config with notepad Step 2) Mount the SD to your computer and open. Step 1) first start DOSBox for the first time, then type exit to quit the emulator. Member KnuxKitsune has got windows 3.1 running on dosbox for rs97 the guide is below if you fancy trying it thanks again to KnuxKitsune for getting it running.
